"I actually cannot I love Pullman’s other books but (slight spoiler) making a 30year old man who looked after Lyra as a BABY and then TAUGHT HER at 16 YEARS OF AGE be “in love” with her and fantasise about smelling her (16 year old) hair, then turn around and say a 20 year old guy (same as Lyra) is “barely a man” and refers to him as a boy.
