As an avid fan of ID/reality shows like "I Survived", I thought I was beyond being shocked by the cruelty that people are capable of. This story was on a whole new level and it deeply saddens me that people like Shelly not only exist in society but get away with their atrocities for so long. However, I felt that the story dragged on and became repetitious which detracted from the horror and shock. I would have put it down a lot sooner but I wanted to see if justice was served. Without giving anything away, I was disappointed. However, the book was well-written in the manner that I've come to expect from Gregg Olsen.
