I really appreciated the new characters introduced into the storyline, their POVs taking their own chapters. As I had expected, many of the relationships were not a surprise, but they were rather exciting to have confirmed my suspicions and see where they ended up. There was a relationship that sprouted without even expecting, I shall not say which one to avoid spoiling, but I will say I was extremely shocked but happy it occurred. The battle scene had many curve balls thrown, which I applaud Maas for writing because it really keeps the reader on our toes. Heck, I felt the story had many unexpected curves. The ending was not only sweet, but also a terrible cliff hanger. Not terrible in the sense it was poorly written, but terrible for my poor imagination and mind that is left to wander endlessly until I pick up the fifth book. I am trying to hold off on the fifth book until the sixth one is released this year. By far, my favorite book in the series so far though. I feel Celaena/Aelin has grown so much within the third book and this one, and the reader is able to grow with her. I never gave up hope for Dorian. Chaol will forever anger me for his pettiness. Rowan is just drool worthy! Manon I had hated so much, but after reading through this book, I begin to feel sorry for her. You can't judge her for how she was raised. There is so much to learn about her still that was left out of this book, but foreshadowed, and she also grows as a character and you start to see another side of her. Overall, my favorite book.

I am so glad I reread this prior to the 7th's release because there was a great lot that I had forgotten or missed, or some details that I know were not touched in EoS and truly hope they are brought back into KoA. I would hate for some details to have been pointless. Also, I know people grow to like Lorcan, but I still truly 100% hate him. And I need a major LOT of chapters of Manon and Dorian <3 Like please!!! ...more "
