"I haven't been able to give any updates because I started reading this on a plane, and I've been sick, but two things of note:

1. apparently Hagrid's motorcycle was actually Sirius' and I wish this was mentioned in the movies.
2. The movie did so many things better that it's actually shocking to me rereading this and realizing how much is done differently - and worse - in the book."

Nina LaCour
“I wish you more happiness than can fit in a person.”
Nina LaCour, We Are Okay

Warsan Shire
“His eyes were the same colour as the sea in a postcard someone sends you when they love you, but not enough to stay.”
Warsan Shire

Margaret Atwood
“Male fantasies, male fantasies, is everything run by male fantasies? Up on a pedestal or down on your knees, it's all a male fantasy: that you're strong enough to take what they dish out, or else too weak to do anything about it. Even pretending you aren't catering to male fantasies is a male fantasy: pretending you're unseen, pretending you have a life of your own, that you can wash your feet and comb your hair unconscious of the ever-present watcher peering through the keyhole, peering through the keyhole in your own head, if nowhere else. You are a woman with a man inside watching a woman. You are your own voyeur.”
Margaret Atwood, The Robber Bride

Warsan Shire
“all those nights with the phone warming the side of my face like the sun.”
Warsan Shire

Amelia Atwater-Rhodes
“Days and weeks and years. My brother never returned last night. Days and weeks and years. How long until their assassins find me? Danica Shardae Heir to the Tuuli Thea”
Amelia Atwater-Rhodes, Hawksong
