I have never read such a grievous book as Stephen Chbosky’s The Perks of Being a Wallflower. This book, while it can fill you with sadness, dictates some of the harsh struggles of the teenage years.
Charlie is going into his first year of high school I have never read such a grievous book as Stephen Chbosky’s The Perks of Being a Wallflower. This book, while it can fill you with sadness, dictates some of the harsh struggles of the teenage years.
Charlie is going into his first year of high school and soon discovers a world of firsts. First dates, first parties, first times doing drugs. He’s lost and without friends when he goes into high school and manages to befriend the most unlikely group of misfits. These people guide him through growing up, and he slowly changes into the person he will be for the rest of his life.
Charlie’s friends are very inspirational people, who know what it really means to be a good friend. They understand that sometimes, even the littlest things can have a very huge impact on people.
At some points of this book, I was almost in tears. There is a hint of sadness and fear that runs beneath Charlie’s words to the point where you can hear his anguish and bottled up sadness beneath his words.
I would recommend this book to anyone who wants an afternoon curled up in a chair on a rainy day with a moving book. I think that this book should be read by every teenager, it helps you to realize just how valuable good friendship is....more
