The word “understanding” in the Hebrew is SAKAL (Strong, 1996) H7919. This means “to understand, be wise, prudent and have insight regarding the promises of God in such a way that will bring success” (Joshua 1:8).

This is awesome. When I have my singing lessons, I am taught to always be a step ahead of the words I am singing, to pre-empt the words. To think on the words that I am singing. Focus on what is coming so that the end execution is it's best. This gives me time to meditate on the words to understand their meaning.

Bob Marley
“The biggest coward of a man is to awaken the love of a woman without the intention of loving her.”
Bob Marley

Emily Dickinson
“Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches on the soul,
And sings the tune without words,
And never stops at all.”
Emily Dickinson, The Collected Poems of Emily Dickinson

John Eldredge
“A woman in her glory, a woman of beauty, is a woman who is not striving to become beautiful or worthy or enough. She knows in her quiet center where God dwells that he find her beautiful, has deemed her worthy, and in him, she is enough.”
John Eldredge, Captivating: Unveiling the Mystery of a Woman's Soul

Hildegard von Bingen
“Like billowing clouds,
Like the incessant gurgle of the brook,
The longing of the spirit can never be stilled.”
Hildegard von Bingen

Hildegard von Bingen
“Underneath all the texts, all the sacred psalms and canticles, these watery varieties of sounds and silences, terrifying, mysterious, whirling and sometimes gestating and gentle must somehow be felt in the pulse, ebb, and flow of the music that sings in me. My new song must float like a feather on the breath of God.”
Hildegard of Bingen
