I've seen this book being talked around social media for some time, but haven't decided to pick it up until now. My mood lately isn't in line with this book vibes: cozy fiction. But it's been on my radar for some time, I was just never interested enough to begin reading it. So, now I'm reading this book because this book made it to the final round of the Goodreads Choice Awards and I have no to be read books waiting in line.

What is this book about? (May contain spoiler)

It tells the story of Yeongju, the bookshop owner, as she's navigating her new life: opening a local bookshop. She's a divorcee, restarting her life. Beside selling books, Hyunam-Dong Bookshop also sells coffee.
Minjun works as a barista, creating coffee for visitors to enjoy. Minjun is a freshgraduate, straight A student from a reputable university, who had a hard time finding the dream job. As a brilliant student with a 4.0 GPA, his documents have always made it to the next round of the job recrutment but he seemed to always fail during interview. At first, he had a hard time accepting the fact that you can fail despite being smart and going to a decent university. He began to question things and himself, and find out that maybe all he wants in life isn't to become a doctor or lawyer but instead someone who can enjoy life.
No coffee without the beans. Meet Jimi, Hyunam-Dong Bookshop first and only coffee bean supplier. We'll learn that she has a troubled marriage as her husband is a lazy, stay at home partner. Once, she went home being hungry just to find that the her husband had eaten all the ramen (two packs) and did not save some for her. At least if her husband was too lazy, he could just let Jimi know so that she could grab some from the convenience store before coming home. But he did not. Jimi would also come home to a messy house (unwashed dish, etc.). She told Minjun that it was her that insisted that she wanted to marry her husband, though. (Important take: choose your partner correctly, will you be happy coming home to them? What are their red-flags?)
There are also some other characters: the bookshop visitors. They are:
• Mincheol, a high school student that feels unconnected to life
• Mincheol's mother, a regular visitor
• Jungsuh, a visitor who spends hour in the cafe crocheting and knitting. She made a lot of different patterns and gave it to the bookshop which was given out to other visitors through a giveaway
There are also those that appeared but doesn't play a huge part that I may have missed and not mentioned. If they are mentioned again in the upcoming chapters, I'll mention them here. (hide spoiler)]

What do I think about this book?
So far, I enjoy the books. It's about life. It makes me think about life in a different way. It makes me want to savor life slowly, to take time admiring not only the big things in life but also the small things in life. Currently this is a five star read (and it would probably remain the same till the end).
