" Supperrrrr into the fantasy vibe. I’m also definitely a woodland faerie myself so I was obsessed with the whole world and general concept. The way that Maas writes is truly enchanting and magical. The scenes she describes, and the world she created o Supperrrrr into the fantasy vibe. I’m also definitely a woodland faerie myself so I was obsessed with the whole world and general concept. The way that Maas writes is truly enchanting and magical. The scenes she describes, and the world she created oozed magic and whimsy.

I loved Feyre’s character and was super obsessed with the little trio of her, Licien and Tamlin. They were so funny. I loved how they fed off one another. It made me smile.

I also loved how a lot of the holidays were accurate to Wiccan holidays. I always love a good earthy holiday celebration.

I’m super eager for the rest of the series and to see and explore the lands in other courts. This book and the plot gave me Beauty and the Beast vibes (the curse) and then Persephone and Hades vibes (the bargain Feyre made with Rhysand). I enjoyed both of those whimsical plots as well.

I only gave it 4 stars because I felt like I really had to focus on the curse and the plot behind it. Like I really had to focus on the backstory for sure. I would definitely like to read it again, knowing the plot of the curse and then be able to enjoy the absolutely beautiful scene that Maas paints. I felt like the description and the magical world was a second focus when I was trying to understand and solve the curse. So I’d like to read again one day and just focus on the world itself.

But now that I have a better understanding of the world, the Prythian realm, and the curse, I think the rest of the series will flow seamlessly. Very excited for all that there is to come!!!

Especially excited to see how Tamlin and Feyre blossom in their relationship now that there’s no curse, and how this bargain with Rhys is going to play out. I’m ready for this roller coaster ride of a series. I’m mentally prepping myself.

Re-read: I won't go into a full review, but I will say I do appreciate this book more the second time around. It's so amazing to see all the groundwork SJM laid for the future books. She really was 5 steps ahead in writing, and was very aware of where this series was going. Her planning and attention to detail is really to thank for this series becoming so successful. ...more "
