"Nothing could have really prepared me for Clarice Lispector. This is my first time reading a stream-of-consciousness book. I like its free approach to language and structure. Instead of experiencing the main character in a narrative story constructed in hindsight, Lispector takes you straight into her real-time thoughts and experiences. This does however make the text hard and at times almost jarring to read."
