This book helped me to understand how hard some people's lives can be around the world and the intensity of some people's struggles. This book really put into perspective how minor some of my problems are and showed that I should be grateful to be living the life I am living today. My favorite part of the book was the end when Deja finally got her happy ending. The amount her life changed from the beginning of the book to the end is crazy. It would be hard for me to even imagine living in her position at the beginning of the book and I don't know how she got through it.
