[NOT A REVIEW - just opinions I'm noting down for personal reference]

Breakfast at Tiffany's - Will probably re-read again sometime later - had difficulty sticking with the book at first because of its language and how odd it appeared at first. - Holly Golightly is this consistently wild, unfocused character. She's surprisingly down-to-earth when it comes to her opinions and her mannerisms, but she struggles between wanting to be free and unbelonging to a single romantic partner, yet still chases after a rich man for a long, stable future. She's deceptively charming and this proves problematic, as she tends to bring in multiple lovers but she ends up turning them all down. Except for the rich ones. - Narrator ends up being in love with her too and kind of falls into hole with the other men Holly entices. He's simply a close friend to her by the end.
House of Flowers - Interesting short story about love. Takes a look at some elements including fate vs. coincidence and being 'blinded' by love. - Beautiful descriptions and imagery - Odd story point with the animal parts being cooked and grandmother's death. And the significance of the grandmother's presence/eye being still around to haunt the main character? Just seemed a bit out of place....more
