Maximo misses me. To be fair, he never hid how happy he was to come home to me. He showed how he felt with his sweet kisses and frantic touches. But it was the first time he’d said the words. And, God, they’d sounded so good.

Sure, he was a caveman level of possessive. And, yes, he was over the top. Insane. Straight up dysfunctional. But I loved it.
