" First of all- wow. This was honestly everything I hoped and expected it would be. I know SJM has her faults but her stories are simply unmatched and I loved every second I was reading it. Okay now I'm going to write some separate thoughts.

Yes, it was First of all- wow. This was honestly everything I hoped and expected it would be. I know SJM has her faults but her stories are simply unmatched and I loved every second I was reading it. Okay now I'm going to write some separate thoughts.

Yes, it was character heavy but I am okay with it. The plot was enough for me, and I would think she's setting up for the rest of the series anyway. Plus, if a book is primarily character driven with a relatively small plot and I still can't put it down, that's some badass character development. The characters were spectacular, in my opinion. Nesta's arc was everything I hoped for and her ending with Cassian was just amazing. To be honest, I thought it was just the right amount of smut, but maybe that's because I haven't read any in ages! And finally, we got some amazing new characters in Gwyn and Emerie and I love them both, especially the group's emotional and physical journey together.

I'll admit the plot was limited, but what we did get, I loved! The part in the Middle and the Blood Rite were highlights, in my opinion. However, the pregnancy plot line... I'm not sure how to feel about it but I'm not the biggest fan. Oh well though- the ending was exciting anyway.

Some part of me wishes that Nesta was able to master her power, because I feel like that would be just awesome for her and exciting in books to come. BUT I'm okay with the ending and her giving it up because it was her choice to save Feyre and that was something she'd never done before. So as much as I would've loved seeing Nesta x magic more, it rounded out her character development nicely enough for me to forgive it.

Finally, I'll say one thing is bugging me still and that is my impression of Rhys after this book. Not so much for the way he treated Nesta, because that was amended in the end, but for him keeping the secret from Feyre. That is so not okay and while I'm trying to dismiss it as a flaw, lack in judgement, etc. it is simply bothering me. I've been the biggest Rhys stan for the whole series, so I'm hoping that behavior doesn't return. But regardless, this is not enough to really sway my opinion on the book overall.

P.S. I want Az and Gwyn t0gether so so badly! They are the absolute cutest and I won't forgive SJM if she never gives them a chance.

P.P.S. I wouldn't mind Emerie and Mor either... ...more "
