This is what makes Whit such a toxic and unlikable MMC: there’s no apology. He, just like EVERY character who claims to love/care for Inez, uses and manipulates Inez. Rather than own up to his mistakes and WORK on himself, he’s finding a way to get back on her good side by doing favors for her. His way of “making things right” is to either get back the money somehow and/or do her a big favor: catch her mother. When in reality, what he needs to do is apologize and work on communicating with her.
