Ashley Edward Miller created a character that is a little bit too special(he has Asperger's syndrome). I kept reading the book because the story was quite interesting with characters that really fit the story. Collin is a punk, but unpredictable. Makes the story entertaining.

When I looked at the book’s cover, I knew right away that bullying would play a big part in the theme. Miller surprised me, because Collin (or any other character) was hardly abused(mentally, physically). Miller just made a saga about a boy starting to explore his abilities and use them, on real world problems. An accident happened in Collin’s school. His intuition says that the cops got the wrong person. In order to prove that his fellow colleague is just a fish in the wrong aquarium, Collin embarks in an adventure which will give him a new relationship status, and show what he is capable of, when it comes at solving mysteries. It is a simple example of what detectives struggle at doing. Miller did this by using an eerie student in his natural habitat, high school.

The kid is truly an expert when it comes to school in general. His major problem that he faces(besides solving the main mystery) is interacting with people. Collin has a hard time with that. It is not because he feels embarrassed or can’t find that one clique. It’s just too awkward of an individual to talk to. The kid need flashcards to read one’s expression. He can’t figure out himself. A notebook(more like a diary) serves the boy as a 24 hour company. At least the type that he can trust. Fortunately throughout the story Collin finds himself a buddy that is loyal(maybe), secretive, and with quite a past that could get him a place in book number two.

The campaign mode is what most attracted me. The book has an introduction, middle, but lacks an ending because it is part of a series. The world is not a harry potter kind of thing, it constantly change the sceneries, and never goes back to them. Kind of interesting. Assuming that the book was inspired by one of the greatest detectives ever, Sherlock Holmes. I believe that homes constantly went back to the crime scenes in order to gather evidence for his conclusion. Miller improvises everything at the needed time(sometimes), giving Collin the memory at the right time, or uses the world around to provide an answer to the missing piece.

It is only the first book. It sure is simple, but still sweat. The chapters went by fast, giving the reader some control over time. Because Miller made Collin surpass Einstein, by always giving him the data needed, when it was needed, made me take one star away from the set. For me that was in some way elementary.
