driving home tonight
and i was taking the neighborhood streets
like i normally do
i could see lightning not far
and rain began to fall
thick drops one by one
onto the windshield
next i know
i’m amidst a swarm of dragonflies
i lock eyes with one passing by
parallel on my left
are they migrating?
could it be the rain?
or is it cause i’m driving the bug today
