there’s SO much i can say about this book and i could div into every single aspect of this book but it’s gonna take me hours and a lot of brain power, so i’m just gonna talk about the things that i loved. these are things that stuck close to my heart while reading great bbl <3

fact: i loved the little facts in the beginning of the book and i wish emily would have continued doing them throughout the entire book

fact: i loved alice. as a poppy stan and poppy lover and poppy enthusiast, alice, is a poppy variant but also completely different. i love that she choose to sit by the bar so she can talk to a complete stranger. i love how kind and understanding she is. i love her way of looking on life

fact: i loved reading about alice childhood and i really enjoyed all of the parts that took place in the house where she grew up. it gave me a chance to really understand alice

fact: i loved alice friends. emily knows how to write good friends. my favorite part of beach read? january and shadi’s friendship, my favorite part of pwmov? poppy and alex friendship and my favorite part of great bbl? alice and her friends. they are kind, they are funny, they challenge alice and they take care of her when she challenge herself. they are always there when she needs them and it feels like they genuinely care about her. when i open up a new emhen book i know there’s gonna be some heartwarming friendship moments and they are always my favorite.

fact: i loved the storm chapters. i love a good storm scenario

fact: i love alice and hayden’s relationship and how their relationship came to be. to me, this is a super normal and realistic relationship. i love that they don’t meet and love each other immediately. they start out as strangers, turned to acquaintances, then friends and finally in love. we get to see them meet on multiple occasions. most of emily’s couples are kinda forced together to the same location whereas in this book, alice and hayden hang out cause they want to and they genuinely wanna get to know each other
