" I am still in the process of reading this book, and to say that I am HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED would be an understatement! I was so excited and confused when I read the blurb. I was so excited and confused when I read the blurb. Excited because the blurb was very promising, but confused because the book has been released for almost six months, yet there has not been a single solitary purchase or review.

Nonetheless, I took a chance and made the purchase. Then everything made sense. The book is extremely repetitive. And when I say repetitive, I don't just mean a word or two here or there. I mean entire paragraphs and, at times, pages. If I were to venture a guess, I would say the author utilized AI to do the writing. So far, it appears to be written solely from Malcolm's POV, which wouldn't be so bad. Except Will just keeps saying the same things to Malcolm over and over and over again.

The premise is that they established a fake relationship in order to repair Malcolm's basketball career, which is in shambles due to his supposed temper. However, since he entered into this so-called agreement with Will, he has shown zero signs of a backbone. Most of their interactions take place in Will's Obsidian Heights Penthouse... Speaking of which, if I have to hear one more word about Will's "Obsidian Heights Penthouse," I'm going to scream!! We get it! He owns an Obsidian Heights Penthouse! 😡

Their first intimate interaction takes place within the first few pages. Then again in the second chapter, and following that, it's the same words of Will asking Malcolm if it was his first time being touched by a man. ALREADY ASKED AND ANSWERED REPEATEDLY!!

The whole fake relationship is supposed to allow the world to see them together and change the narrative of Malcolm being a washed-up ticking time bomb. Yet they are rarely out and about. So far, I am on chapter eight, and they have been to ONE gala, which they attended for all of ten minutes because of Dontrell's jealous idiocy. The rest of the time has been spent in, yup, you guessed it; Will's "Obsidian Heights Penthouse," where he's proceeded to continuously remind Malcolm of his dominance and how much he owns him.

When I tell you, I am a very picky reader, and I have read some books that have pmtfo! But never any like this, and so early on at that. So I dread what the following chapters will bring. I pray that I am being premature in my assumptions and that things will change. Otherwise, I want my money back, and I will never read another book from this author, nor will I recommend her to anyone. The bitter irony is that the author's name is the same as one of my favorite songwriter's and singer's of all time. Thank God that this was only a three-dollar book! But at this rate, if it were ten cents or even free, I would still be angry and frustrated for wasting my precious time that I could have been spending reading a book of better caliber. I've seen better writing on Wattpad!

Perhaps I'm wrong, and after further reading I will be back to apologize and amend my review. However, for now, this is where I stand. I couldn't give a half star; therefore, I was forced to give one. 🙄 ...more "
