So good. This book was just sooooo GOOD. I think this just might have usurped book lovers as my favourite Emily Henry book…🫢

This is a story about Daphne, who has just been dumped by her ex-fiancé Peter who has decided he is in love with his childhood bff Petra (And no he’s def not the Peter that Taylor wrote the song about 🤢). Due to this, Daphne moves in with Miles, who happens to be Petra’s ex (who she dumped for Peter), who now needs a new roommate. The icing on the cake is that Miles and Daphne “fake date” 😏 in order to prove they are both doing fine after their respective break ups.

Obviously #1, I’m a huge fan of faking dating and forced proximity, which this book had plenty of 😍 Daphne and Miles were both such loveable characters with such growth, and I was rooting for them both constantly throughout this book. At the start, they both seemed like such opposites; but as time went on and more of their dynamic and friendship developed, we got to see just how similar they are. They really are two sides of the same coin- they understand each other so well and they know each other so deeply—they are quite literally twin souls. Their dynamic, their banter, their feelings for each other-everything to do with them was so authentic and I adored every single second.

Daphne was such a relatable character — the fact that she constantly experiences self-doubt and that she felt like everyone always leaves her for something or someone better- like COME ON EMILY, HOW do you always capture my daily intrusive thoughts and reflect them in your characters SO WELL. I feel so seen?? but also so emotional?? I can’t

Miles was literally such a guy 🤭👌 HE STOLE MY HEART, THAT MAN!! Tbh I honestly thought at the beginning when I started reading that I was not going to vibe with him. But the more I read, the more I fell for that man. Miles was so loveable, so witty and funny, so caring and so loyal. He just has such a big heart and loves those he cares about so so deeply. There were so many times that I just wanted to reach into the book and give him a big big hug 😭

Anyways- all things aside- I loved this book- this story was so enjoyable, daphne and miles were everything, the writing was quite funny & witty. There were times that I laughed hysterically and also times I wanted to chuck my book out my window?? So all in all- my typical reading experience of an Emily Henry book. ...more "
