"okay the story is starting to pick up now - i just wanna know what makes this book so devastating in the end !! as the author fleshes out Lily’s past it begins to move further from the wattpad tropes i think? i think portraying abuse in a romantic novel is inherently difficult and i’m curious to see if hoover will represent rather than romanticise it. i like atlas more than ryle. maybe i just love an underdog lol" — Jul 15, 2021 07:37PM

"madeline miller’s writing is just so poetic and clear i love it so much. i also am in awe of how she’s managed to capture such a world. like, this place and these events occurred before the beginning of time and are also from mythology yet she makes the characters and atmosphere palpable and real. that’s a talent in my opinion." — May 17, 2021 08:46AM

"so far it’s pretty good - i really enjoy the concept but tbh i find that the story drags quite a bit. it’s taken me longer than usual to get through this book (2 months+) but even though i’m taking huge breaks of not reading it, i’m still actively planning to finish it because i’d like to know how it ends." — May 17, 2021 08:39AM
