"This is my first audiobook of the year. So far, I haven't been particularly impressed with the storyline. The writing style doesn't appeal to me, and there aren't any characters who really stand out. I don't get the whole magical system. "Victoria Schwab is one of my favorite authors. I finished the book Vicious last month and have now started reading the prequel Vengeful. It's a duology with superheroes and dark Academia vibes. Marvel fans would probably really enjoy these two books. I'll write a new reading update later this week; there are l more pages than Goodreads indicates." — Jan 01, 2026 09:36PM

The writing style is very theoretical and so detailed that it often feels like information overload. Think of it as an extremely detailed history book.
