Anderson does a great job with very extensive research from the Guevara family in both Che's native Argentina and Cuba as well as records kept by the Cuban government as well as testimonial from his Comrades Fidel and Raul Castro as well the others who with Che. Anderson portrays Che as neither as an icon or villain rather as real and flawed human being who wanted to change the world he lived in.

He would begin his life in Rosario, Argentina from an Aristocratic family growing up he had all the privileges that were entitled to those of his class, but his family had leftist leanings as a young man he was an aimless adventurer who was studying to become a doctor and with his friend Alberto Granado would travel throughout the South American continent on motorcycle and from that experience it would change him forever yes he saw the beauty and diversity of Latin American, but would also see the crushing poverty that plagued many of these countries and from there he would vow change that and dedicate his life to revolution.

After wandering to Guatemala with his first wife Hilda Gadea Acosta a Peruvian economist who was well-connected politically as a member of the left-leaning American Popular Revolutionary Alliance (APRA). She introduced Ernesto to a number of high-level officials in the Arbenz government in Guatemala which was implementing leftist reforms such land distribution, but the revolutionary experiment would come to an end when the Arbenz government was overthrown by the CIA with the help of the United Fruit Company would owned large Banana plantations throughout Guatemala.

After the coup he would flee to Mexico and there in 1956 would meet Nico Lopez who would introduce Che to Raul and Fidel Castro Cuban freedom fighters who were waging their owning struggle to overthrow Dictator Fulgencio Batista. When Ernesto now dubbed Che by his Cuban comrades would get involved in the struggles of the Cuban revolution until it's victory in January 1st 1959 it would change his life forever molding him to become the great revolutionary know throughout the world as Che. ...more "
