" I absolutely loved this story. Honestly, I wasn't sure I was going to actually like this series. Though I suppose I should start from the beginning.

I didn't grow up watching "The Lord of the Rings" or "The Hobbit." Although I knew about them, I neve I absolutely loved this story. Honestly, I wasn't sure I was going to actually like this series. Though I suppose I should start from the beginning.

I didn't grow up watching "The Lord of the Rings" or "The Hobbit." Although I knew about them, I never found much interest in the series. However, a few weeks ago, while scrolling on TikTok, a video showed up on my For You Page. At first, I didn't think much of it until the man pulled out this beautiful keyboard and mouse pad. I fell in love with the green and brown keyboard with symbols I didn't recognize. Upon rewatching the video, I found out it was inspired by "The Lord of the Rings," which sparked my interest in the series. After doing some research, I discovered that the series didn't start with "The Lord of the Rings" but with "The Hobbit." One thing led to another, and I found myself holding the book and standing in the checkout line. When I read this line,

"In a hole in the ground, there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit hole, and that means comfort."

From the first paragraph, I was hooked. Much to everyone's surprise, I fell in love with this book and could not put it down. Everyone I mentioned the idea of reading this series to told me how long it was and that they didn't think I would like it."

From the moment I delved into the pages of this book, I found myself captivated by the captivating tale of Bilbo Baggins. Initially apprehensive about his character, I was quickly drawn in, utterly enamored by his transformation. It was inspiring to witness his reluctance to join the Dwarfs evolve into a courageous decision to depart from his familiar abode.

The dwarfs initially had a lot of doubts about Bilbo and were quite skeptical of his abilities when Gandalf introduced him to the group. They didn't trust him and were hesitant to include him in their quest. However, as the story progressed, Bilbo's bravery, cunning, and resourcefulness started to win them over. They began to see him in a new light and ultimately came to appreciate and admire him as their burglar and as a crucial member of their team.

The messages conveyed in the story are truly remarkable. One that particularly stood out to me was the one involving Bilbo, which I found to be the most admirable. It emphasizes the importance of living life to the fullest, even in the face of fear. It encourages individuals to venture beyond the safety of their familiar surroundings and embrace the unknown. The journey itself may be long and challenging, but it offers valuable experiences. The return journey, on the other hand, allows one to reflect on these experiences and transform them into valuable lessons that can be shared with others.

That message has had a profound impact on me and even inspired me to get my first tattoo: a Hobbit Hole. To many, this may seem like a simple tattoo, but for me, it represents something much deeper. It serves as a constant reminder for me to step outside of my comfort zone and take on new adventures, even when fear tries to hold me back. It's also a symbol of the fact that my journey is just beginning and there is still so much more for me to discover and experience. ...more "
