This book was not my favorite. It was sorta a self help book with a very obvious lesson and very obvious metaphors. Nice point, and one that totally resonates, but a couple times I felt like AI coulda written it. Just sorta cheesy and to be expected. Is the word trite? It did bring up some ideas like could we really have been olympians and rock stars and date movie stars if we’d only made other choices? Is free will really a thing? I do like the tree branches deal and the concept that all you need is a change in your attitude. Hah. A simplistic book. I did hope she got a dog and asked Ash out and just visited Mrs. Elm once a week, not once a day. Also “I am alive” is a good concept. I didn’t laugh or cry. Alllmost at the end when her neighbor (Bejeebers? Hah) cared about her. Also who’s like Hugo? What’s he represent? Someone who flits about from life to life? What again? IDK. Makes me feel like my mom that books of descriptive depth and lovely writing and characters are few and far between “these days”
