My brain froze at the implication of everything he’d just said, and all I could do was watch as he grabbed his coat and keys and looked back at me with a look of such longing on his face. And then walked out the door.

And she still hasn’t mentioned Cade. He’s arriving today based on everything they’ve said before. She hasn’t bought food. She hasn’t asked Trace if he even wants to meet his kid… so she doesn’t even know that he has no clue he’s a father yet. What mom do you know that can have full conversations for days at a time and never once say “we” or mention their kids name somewhere ? It’s starting to get very unrealistic.
