When my wife and I fled this place, in fear for our sanity and physical safety,
Wow, this is uncharacteristically emotional for a Brit.; they're known for having "a stiff upper lip" and whatnot. So, to describe what is essentially a move to America so dramatically is utterly shocking in that it’s entirely unexpected, and within the first page no less - I better buckle up!
