The main character Greg is going on a long road trip to where nobody knows. But one thing we know is that greg does not want to go on this trip. Where his mother has dragged everyone in the family which no one wanted to do. When they are on this road trip nothing was going there way. When they were going to go they didn't have enough room in there van for their luggage, so they brainstormed and thought of new ways to bring everything. Earlier in the book (they thought of using their boat) But they have noticed that the boat had some problems with it. Holes animals living in the boat. So they had to clear that to get going. On the road they have to stop after a long day of driving and the dad is tired and so is the mom. So they stopped in a motel that was the nastiest thing they have ever witnessed in their lives so the tried for a refund which was not allowed. They had to deal with it. They the next day they kept driving and to look at national monuments around the country. But that didn't work out because They stopped at the biggest fair and they sorta somehow won a baby pig which they somehow had to start keeping and raising the pig. But that couldn't work out because they were on a family road trip so they had no room other than the back of the van with Greg who was not so happy about the idea. Which manny the little brother got very attached to the pig then they had to give the pig up which manny did not like so well. Which led into them doing something for manny like going to a water park while at the water park they lost their stuff (stuff got stolen) which actually the key was just lost. So they had to track these people down and when they were driving back home because of this disaster of a road trip. They spotted this car that has been following the whole road trip so they thought maybe they had possibly stolen their stuff. So the family got out of the car and checked their car and its weird their stuff was not there . So they just drove home and when they got home greg was going through his stuff and he found the key they lost so which means their stuff was still in the locker. ...more "
