this is extremely indicative of kakeru's later development, and the part of him i find the most fascinating. he largely rails against being told what to do but instinctively looks to others when he's lost and frustrated. so by the end when he's coming to his own conclusions, i put so much weight to them when there's no hint of suggestion from anyone else, bc kakeru worked so hard to find the words to understand and describe himself.
