NOT SPOILER FREE. Apologies for the spelling of the names. I can’t remember them all there were a lot of characters introduced in the first 7 chapters.

This book was just boring, it went around in circles the first 8 chapters. They really and I mean REALLY wanted you to know how much kin and porsche hate each other. It got to a point where I found myself unconsciously saying “okay, I get it already.” Kin was constantly committing actual crimes against
Porsche’s friends and family and then those people would kinda play it off in a joking matter?( Jom/jon? being beat so badly just was fine with it I guess because hey he got free lunch.) porsche using his friends name as an alias, knowing that his friend could get seriously hurt was also just disgusting of him.

Porsche acted like a really immature 20 year old adult which is strange considering he raised his brother on his own after his parents death, heavily suggesting that he had to grow up quickly. He’s held down a job for a long time, he’s in university with sports scholarship and he has strong, good relationships yet he’s this insufferable cold, uncaring you know what. His personality is rotten to the core caring only about money and his love for his little brother being his ONLY redeeming quality but it’s questionable honestly considering he treats his little brother like a small child who deserves to know nothing even things that could affect him.

When he agrees to work for kinn (surprisingly was not forced to take that job btw) constantly fight's over non issues and forgets he’s on the job not only that gets drunk on the job? Insanity.

Both characters were unlikeable and in a competion of who can do worse to who it’s very repetitive. Considering this is a character driven novel I don’t know who was supposed to draw me in, who am I routing for (no one)? There was zero chemistry between them and the sexual tension of their relationship is one-sided it makes the reader feel gross. I kept imagining kinn as a creepy old man instead of the gorgeous rich mafia member he was supposed to be. I have nothing against non-con fictional smut but the way it was written just felt oily.

I’ll read the rest because I own it on kindle but really where is this story even going? Characters inconsistent 1 dimensional, plot boring and barley there, romance non existent. ...more "
