I read this back in February, so re-reading the sex scenes as narrated by the two actors….shit had me blushing. This book really had no reason to be this spicy, and I loved it. Ate it up. Although I did prefer the first half of the novel to the second, I still enjoyed myself. Though I still think this book could have been shortened by a hundred pages. That is all!

(First read through Feb 2023) 4.25 ⭐️. Miss Nyla K sought out to write a college sports romance epic (her first) and I’m happy to report that she absolutely nailed it here. A steamy, forbidden romance between stepbrothers (and college students) turned OnlyFans content creators!?!?!? Say less. I have said this and will continue to say this: Nyla K is one of the most criminally underrated authors in the indie-space; her books have just as much emotional depth and complexity as they do spice-level. And her books are some of the steamiest books I’ve ever read. This is most anticipated read of 2023, I’ve been ravenous for this since she announced it back in October of last year. Also, unintentionally one of the longest books I’ve ever read, at a staggering 736 pages. As the title suggests, this book is very very VERRRRRRRY steamy.

My thoughts:
Those filming scenes had me sweating. No one writes guy-on-guy sex like Nyla does lol. But with that in mind, this book is also unexpectedly emotional, especially with the one of the male leads and his heartbreaking backstory (Kyran). The lead characters are so charming, and Nyla does what she does best here: banter. Kyran is such an adorable grump and I found myself relating to Avi quite a bit. Both of these boys form an adorable grumpy x sunshine dynamic (with a little bullying sprinkled in there), and the resulting banter was just so adorable. I feel like I definitely needed to read something more of the “lighthearted” side, and this definitely delivered.

Also, with this novel being Nyla’s first foray into sports romance (Kyran is our little grumpy Quarterback) — this was quite entertaining and engaging. Normally idgaf about the ‘sports’ elements of sports romances, but I found myself genuinely interested here. I’m sure my full thoughts will formulate and solidify in the coming days, but I definitely enjoyed myself with this book.

One thing, the pacing is daunting here…..like, this is not a “quick-read” per se. I still haven’t fully decided if this is a major issue (personally), but just know this is a chunky book. I definitely feel like I need to read something fast-paced now ...more "
