Equating our African and Latin-American Nazarene kins’ views on modesty and dresses to their views on human sexuality is not only a poor argument, but one that is implicitly colonizing in nature. How often have we heard Western Progressives of earlier periods look down up the Global South for their “savage and backwards views”?
