been 6 months since I read this the first time, and it’s clearer now just how much better the books are than the show (I will fight anyone who wants to argue with me about this)
The show was good, heck yes, but it just doesn’t do justice to the absolubeen 6 months since I read this the first time, and it’s clearer now just how much better the books are than the show (I will fight anyone who wants to argue with me about this)
The show was good, heck yes, but it just doesn’t do justice to the absolute BANGER this book is, along with the first one. Rereading this reminded me of how intertwined all the characters were with each other, how loving and sweet but also silly and sarcastic all of their many interactions were. It’s what makes the crows so favorited and loveable in comparison to the other grishaverse characters, and it just wasn’t portrayed as it should have been in the show. But that’s my only complaint. So.
These lines, ending my day on a good note:
“She felt his knuckles slide against hers. Then his hand was in her hand, his palm was pressed against her own. Slowly, she felt their fingers intertwine. For a long while they stood there, hands clasped, looking out at the gray expanse of the sea.” (referring to Kanej)
“She reached for Kaz’s sleeve. She was going to fall. He had his arm around her, holding her up.”
“Wait,” he [Kaz] said. “Is my tie straight?”
“Inej laughed, her hood falling back from her hair. “That’s the laugh,” he [Kaz] murmured.”
Some of y’all *cough* really gonna diss on Kaz Brekker when ALL THIS EXISTS
THEY HELD HANDS I DIDN’T EVEN REMEMBER THAT
Rest assured I am not worried. From this evidence presented, Queen Inej Ghafa is married to Kaz Brekker and there is no claim that will dispute this fact Kaz might’ve been a little slow in getting there. He might’ve been a jerk sometimes. But in the end he tOOK HIS GLOVES OFF AND HE IS HOLDING HANDS WITH HIS LOVER
An iconic ending to an iconic era of iconic fictional people doing iconic things....more
