3 1/2 ****. This is Zane and Hayden's story in the North Brothers series. Zane, a handsome North brother twin, is a former Navy pilot and Hayden, friend to the family, is a successsful decorator and designer that works long hours. Plot: The MCs first meet at a wedding between his brother and her best friend - both are in the wedding party so have a couple dances and are attracted to each other. That evening, circumstances have Zane taking Hayden home and they give in to their attraction. They soon find that their one night together will have lasting consequences and have to navigate a unplanned future. For most of this book, the MCs adapt to their situation nicely and get to know each other with some sexy times included. Zane especially goes out of his way to be sweet, cook meals, gets her to slow down at work and provides support at every turn. He also figures out what type of work he might do post Navy. There is one brief traumatic incident where Zane has to deal with surpressed emotions from his past and Hayden wants to help him but he shuts her out. Fortunately, she gives him a chance to explain his momentary lapse of devoted attention to her, lol. This book, like the others in this series, has the MC having to grovel a bit before they get their HEA. But, who wouldn't want to see a hunky Navy pilot get down on bended knee. Overall, this story was sweet and predictable but had heartwarming romantic moments.
