"I started this before the Winter break, and I haven’t yet got the chance to finish it because I lent it to my English teacher. It’s a fantastic story so far, and I feel as if the characters are so authentic and vibrant. When Jewish themes and tales are told in books as enjoyable as this, I can’t help but be enamoured with them." — Jan 02, 2022 07:05PM

"Phenomenal start! I’m adoring how we as readers are becoming aquatinted with all of the ins and outs of the initial characters, no matter how unattractive they make the family seem. I would say that the writing is so vivid and descriptive, and I cannot help but swoon as I read. I can already feel it becoming one of my new favourites for this year, despite how early on I am. Surprisingly, it’s my first Tolstoy." — Jan 02, 2022 06:49PM
