Right now I’m wondering how this would all play out with me. Would I accept it, or wonder at how to end it. It feels like we’re in it now. With the pieces in play now, it feels like Napoleon has won and his grip won’t break. Nemik’s Manifesto keeps ringing in my head and I feel like we’re just not there yet. It would take more for everyone to revolt. More time, more atrocities, and what I’m most wondering about is more generations. I feel like I would accept things as they were but carefully teach the next generation about how things shouldn’t be like this and how someday we’ll need change. It would be up to them to bring that change and rebel. Whether I’m saying and doing this out of cowardice or by having an accurate reading of the situation I don’t know. Regardless I’d be wondering how best to unseat Napoleon. Maybe I would need to pretend to mirror his ideals and be a tool to control the masses more effectively than verbal propaganda, with the goal to beat him with inside influence. He certainly couldn’t be beaten with force without outside help, which would be difficult to get with spies all around, and there’s no way to discredit him without being killed. This is why it would take time and patience maybe beyond my lifetime, especially if I go the route of subtly preaching to the next generation. Unless of course, new factors are introduced and more pieces are in play. And maybe it would be the sacrifice of a failed rebellion to introduce more atrocities to wake up the rest of the farm and inspire those to come. But no matter what, the only path to immediate survival is that of appearing to be defeated and obedient. A down trodden asset can be of use but is ultimately one of no consequence.
