Saw that this book was available on Libby as an audiobook so I restarted it and hoping this will last me 2 weeks of commuting / working. Its a 36 hour audio book and I'm only 8% done atm and its already soooo different. I think Lucien/Luc is supposed to be Harry Potter... Also kinda creepy how the villians (Death Eaters) are the "Undead" and are necromancers. Idk i feel like that is a weird change... kinda Frankenstein-ish.

I really liked Harry Potter when I was in middle school and have not re read the novels or rewatched the movies since, so any fan fiction I have read have been enjoyable since the world is already established in my head and it reads as a fantasy read more than a fan fic. But I guess draco/Dramione fan fics are selling large in the world and they are kinda fun to read so my plan is to read the fan fics since they are free and easily available to download and then read the book it became. TBH I enjoyed Percy Jackson more when I was a kid so when I read Manacled it didn't feel like a fan fic because I didn't remember much from the original series.

Never realized that Dramione was a thing until recently but honestly I think it makes more sense than Ron and Hermione. From what I remember, that felt like such a random pairing. Harry and Hermione would've made more sense, or I guess even Draco. But this author really hit it out of the park with Manacled so I assume Alchemised will be just as good.

Also, really behind on my 2026 reading (didn't read anything in June or July and have yet to finish Dungeon Crawler Carl...) I am at 25 books atm and not even 50% done. Hoping to crank out 5-6 novels in September!!

Anywhooooo.. this was really long. So my TLDR for Olivia, Kathleen, and Mashell.

1. Manacled was fantastic and didnt feel like a fanfic
2. Excited to read this one and hope it lives up to the hype
3. Why the heck-a-roni is this a 36 hour book?!?! Definitely could've been 2/3 novels.
4. PJO > HP but kinda loving the fan fics. Reminds me of the One Direction ones from Wattpad i read like 12 years ago.
