I also like that its written in third person, because it lets you see what different characters are thinking instead of just the princess. The story has a nice mix of magic, humor, and serious moments. Sometimes it feels light and funny, and other times it gets a bit sad or tense, especially when it talks about curses or danger.

Chapter 1 grabbed my attention right away with abby princess Rosalinda's christening. I liked reading about all the magic users giving her gifts like beauty, courage, and cleverness. But then things got scary when the evil fairy, Carabosso, showed up and cursed her to prick her finger and die. That part was really tense! I thought it was awesome how Angelique and her teacher, Lord Evariste, worked together to change the curse so she would only fall into a deep sleep instead of dying. They were brave and smart, and it made me like them right away. The only thing that I didn't really like was there were too many names and magic details at once, so it just confused me in the start.

Now in chapter two, we meet briar rose, who is actually princess rosalinda but she doesnt know it yet. This part of the book felt more relaxed and funny to me. Briar lives in a small village with her grandma, nanna, and dreams of having an “easy and carefree life.” I really liked her personality, she's sarcastic and reminds me of myself not like the normal fairytale princesses. I didn't like that she mainly wanted to marry a rich guy, but it also made her feel more real since she's just a teen trying to figure herself out.

Chapter 3 was interesting because Brar starts to notice that she's different from other girls. There's a mystery around her past, and I liked how the story slowly revealed little clues. It made me want to keep reading and find out who she really was. And in chapter four, Briar starts learning how to act like a princess again. I liked seeing her struggle with all the royal rules and lessons because it made her seem so real. She clearly HATES the fancy stuff, and some of her mistakes were pretty funny. It also showed how brave she is, even when she feels awkward or out of place.

Then in chapter 5, we meet the magic knights, and I think this was one of my favourite parts. lsaia, one of the knights becomes close to briar, and i really liked their friendship. He teaches her about courage and loyalty, and you can tell there's something special between them. Their bond felt sweet and natural. Overall I am really enjoying this version of sleeping beauty. It has more action and personality then the classic story, and the mix of funny and serious moments makes it feel magical but still real. I love Brian's strength and attitude, and I'm excited to see what happens next! Writing this review helped me find my own voice by sharing my real thoughts about the story. It was fun to write because I liked talking about the characters and what made the book different. The hard part was organizing my ideas and not repeating myself. What was easy was saying how i felt after each chapter, which made my writing sound more natural and neater.

After finishing Sleeping Beauty by K.M. Shea, my opinion of the book improved. At first, I thought the story would be very predictable and just like the original fairy tale. Some of my predictions did come true, such as the importance of true love and the curse, but the ending felt more thoughtful than I ever thought. I liked how the characters grew and learned to trust each other more by the end of the book. After having time to think about it, I also appreciate how the story balanced magic with emotional moments. Overall, the book ended in a satisfying way, and I would now say it is more enjoyable than I first thought and it's really worth reading, finishing. ...more "
