When it come to this book I think I was intimidated by the size and honestly was still on a book hangover from acotar, that I picked this book up and read a few pages and then put it back down. After a month of “Momento Mori - Remember you will die.”

When it come to this book I think I was intimidated by the size and honestly was still on a book hangover from acotar, that I picked this book up and read a few pages and then put it back down. After a month of convincing I finally finished it and it was incredible!! It has been a very long time since I have cried for what was happening in a book and this book had me sobbing!!

After the world building and the BRUTAL chapter five, I got to see what the hype was all about and I truly fell in love! Bryce Quinlan is a half fae, half human that stole my heart. She is so brave, strong, and incredible!! She puts on a front of being a party girl that never takes life seriously, but after the terrible events she goes through, she does not let it break her.

There is a two year time jump and what happens still haunts her and the city. The attacks start happening again and she is assigned to investigate what really happened two years ago with a grumpy winged angel by her side. They fight to to figure out the mystery of what happened, literally and physically. You need to read this book if you loved Nesta from ACOSF.

SPOILERS FROM THIS POINT ON:

Bryce Quinlan, The entire time I was reading I was blown away with your confidence and your guts.
You are a misunderstood badass that deserves an amazing life after everything you have been through. You never back down from a fight and you will always be the one running into them, when everyone else is running away afraid. Your unwavering loyalty and love that you have for your friends and family is so admirable. To see you constantly going it all and still never giving up. It was phenomenal.

Hunt Athalar, you are also a misunderstood badass and did not deserve what life threw at you either. You are secretly a big old softie and I loved it. The chemistry and banter you had with Bryce!!! What an incredible book boyfriend!! Don’t even get me started with Danika’s birthday.

The friendship that Danika and Bryce had was truly a soulmate kind of experience that happens very rarely in life. I think it was what a lot of people out there look for their whole life and want to experience for themselves. The way they always had each others backs, even in life and death was amazing. My heart aches for them throughout the whole book and I was so glad they were able to reunite and do the drop together in the end. It truly broke my heart what happened to the pack and especially Connor, my poor baby I wish you got your date. I wanted so much more of you and bryce. I truly wish there was a reunion between the two of them to get some closure because he would have been heartbroken to know that she was getting bullied by everyone.

I feel like this book is going to be on my mind forever and I will never forget it. I could write a whole book itself about the love I have for these characters!! ...more "
