I really dislike the use of specific foods here. Equating the zin people to essentially Koreans and then the other group to Germanic peoples really takes away from the fantasy world. Especially using the names of the specific dishes that are only called that because of the real-world application from the real world culture. Instead, they could say fermented spiced cabbage or pickled cabbage... I don't want the real world in my fantasy stories.
