The way that tone carries through every page and chapter, no matter the actual content - even when the individual tonal goals of each chapter seem otherwise separate - is incredible to me. Just as with many parts of the Bible, shocked by how quickly it goes from Moses's birth to him already having petitioned the Pharoah for the Israelite people. It's no wonder that these stories are dramatized and expanded so much and so frequently, because there's surprisingly little active content, yet it's still so rich. "I finished "Genesis" today, after around a month with it (including a handful of days away to read "1 Enoch" in the middle, as well as being (ashamedly) distracted by the first couple rounds of March Madness taking too much of my time last weekend.
