"30-ish chapters in and I got deep into a long reading slump before I picked the book again after so long. I can't lie about being bored in chapters where Albert and Franz were first introduced, especially when I read long narratives about the masquerades and theater scenes all felt dull to me, and I couldn't quite see the point of why they were described in such detail.
