"With the entrance blocked, the company ventured deeper into the mountain. Bilbo explored alone and discovered the Arkenstone before rejoining the dwarves. They gathered what treasure they could carry and eventually escaped the mountain, heading north while wondering where Smaug had gone." — Oct 29, 2026 02:23PM

"This part of the book, along with the lead-up to its beginning, reminds me so much of the story of the Bible. The Bible is often misunderstood as a single book, when it is really a collection of books preserved in scrolls. By contrast, The Lord of the Rings is one work published in separate volumes. Like the Bible, it has gone through different versions over time." — Oct 08, 2026 07:46PM
