I do think this time has been the most fun because I witnessed my daughter's reactions.

There is nothing I can write here that hasn't been written a thousand times by other Harry Potter fans. There is nothing I can write here that will help me to remember my thoughts of this book. So....I will just say that while reading it again I found myself contemplating some of Rowling's macroscopic themes regarding the power of love, friendship, and bravery. To me, the introduction to the dementors is also the introduction to the very dark parts of this series. But it also introduced another concept, the Patronus charm. I like this series because I see much of its very fictionalized ideas ring true in our real world. I don't have a wand and I can't yell out "Expecto Patronum" every time I feel the dementors close - but I can draw on the very happy parts of my life to bring some perspective when I'm feeling low. And that IS magical.

This is the last year of Harry's innocent years. Year 4 transitions the series from childish adventures - if you can call them that - to real-world horror.
