Not naming the groups that face barriers only serves those who already have access; the assumption is that the access enjoyed by the controlling group is universal.
This gets to the heart of anti-racism (and related equity work): the status quo is not working the same way for everyone. In the US the status quo benefits (not an exhaustive list): white people (over people of color), men (over women), wealthy (over poor), heterosexuals (over homosexuals, bisexuals, asexuals), cisgendered (over transgendered). To correct this inequity, we need to name both the groups that are advantaged and those that are disadvantaged by the status quo.
