Book cover for Melodies of Life: A Final Fantasy IX Retrospect and Analysis

Very interesting way to describe Zidane, since normally I wouldn’t click to these sort of descriptions. I always described him as a flirt, kind-hearted and maybe a little bit romantic (and other things I can’t remember). We don’t expect to talk about sex in video games like Final Fantasy, but when you put everything into perspective and actually read into the characters behaviors and dialogue, you expect something like this from Zidane. He was raised by the Tantalus, and is a flirt by heart, so I’m pretty sure that he’s had some sexual encounters already at his age. And there’s nothing wrong with that, is just who he is, until he met Garnet that is.

“They will garb your brother Robb in silks, satins, and velvets of a hundred different colors, while you live and die in black ringmail. He will wed some beautiful princess and father sons on her. You’ll have no wife, nor will you ever hold a child of your own blood in your arms. Robb will rule, you will serve. Men will call you a crow. Him they’ll call Your Grace. Singers will praise every little thing he does, while your greatest deeds all go unsung. Tell me that none of this troubles you, Jon … and I’ll name you a liar, and know I have the truth of it.”

“Aerys Targaryen’s last Hand was killed during the Sack of King’s Landing, though I doubt he’d had time to settle into the Tower. He was only Hand for a fortnight. The one before him was burned to death. And before them came two others who died landless and penniless in exile, and counted themselves lucky. I believe my lord father was the last Hand to depart King’s Landing with his name, properties, and parts all intact.”
