This story is about a girl who is armless that goes through many situations. It is told from the perspective of a girl, called Aven. She lived a good life with friends and an amazing school. But her parents, unfortunately, had to get a new job. This new job was a managing position at Stagecoach Pass, Arizona. This meant that she had to actually move to Arizona. This meant she had to leave all of her life behind. Which, some people can relate to. Her life shows the many situations that any teenagers go through every day.
One thing about this book is that it dismisses anything you can think of from the start. People may think Aven can't do many things because she has no arms. But that is totally wrong! She can do quite literally anything. Aven finds herself learning how to do things with her feet at a young age. Like playing the guitar, or soccer.
After moving to Arizona, she didn't have any friends. So, she didn't have any friends to eat with at lunch. She found herself eating in the bathroom alone every single day of school. But one day, she decided to go to the library. That's where she meant Connor, a boy with Tourette's. Like Aven, they were both eating alone. Aven decided to go to Connor and talk to him after hearing him bark. This brought a new friendship.
Another day, Aven went to the office instead of the library to go to Connor. She found someone named Zion eating alone outside. He was eating alone because he as well didn't have friends. He didn't have friends because people found him chubby. So, Aven invited him over to Connor and they became a friend group.
Together, they went on a mission to find out why the Stagecoach Pass owner Joe Cavanaugh went missing and gave Aven's parents ownership instead. When they came across a shed, they checked it. Every day they checked and found nothing. One day, they found a picture of a girl who looked exactly like Aven. They had no clue who she was until Aven found another picture on her own of the same girl with her mom. Except, the same girl was pregnant. The mom was someone who worked at the park.
Aven went to the mom of the pregnant girl called Josephine and questioned her. Atlas, it turned out the pregnant girl who looked like Aven was Aven's mom. And Josephine was Aven's grandmom! This changed everything. This meant that the owners of Stagecoach Pass were Aven's parents.
Aven had custody of the park when she turns 18. But, for now she has to worry about her life at her new town. After getting into a fight with Connor, she found herself trying out for the soccer team. She made the team and made new friends. Connor saw her play and they apologized to each other. Aven told him the entire story of what happened, and they became friends again.
But Aven's ideas for the stagecoach park when she had control over it took place currently. They had a important festival that involved art, music, and many people coming....more
