" The Scorch Trails is a continuation of "The Maze Runner." LET ME TELL YOU. It is a good way to continue the story. The way the story plays out was not what i expected. Despite this it was incredible to read. It was filled with breath taking moments, The Scorch Trails is a continuation of "The Maze Runner." LET ME TELL YOU. It is a good way to continue the story. The way the story plays out was not what i expected. Despite this it was incredible to read. It was filled with breath taking moments, that leads the reader wanting for more.
After finally escaping the Maze they were sent to a place where they thought they were safe. It could not be further from the truth. Many people were lost in the battle for them to live. The only girl they had known and helped them escape the maze was taken from them.
Thomas had to deal with heartbreak from losing his friend and now he was separated from Teresa. The connection that they shared was no longer there. He was frightened as one would be if they all of a sudden lost another part of them. In search for her they also discovered some terrible things called cranks.
Cracks sort of remind of zombies. You are meant to RUN from them. It left me at the edge of my seat, I felt scared for what might happen to my favorite characters like Thomas. In order to be safe they have to cross a dead city to get to the safe haven. They meet someone who helps them escape that hell. All in exchange for a cure to help him with a disease.
They meet new people. Were the people trustworthy though? Just like in real life there will be people you can trust and cannot trust. They cannot even trust that what is happening around them is real. Thomas gets separated from his friends and is faced with dangers and even almost dies.
The story has many turns of events that are mesmerizing to a reader. By the end we discover who was the betrayer all that time. The betrayal there was from someone that they thought they could trust was horrible. It leaves a reader angry at how they can treat someone the way Teresa did to Thomas. Even with this she claims it is only for good."Wicked is good," he is reminded by her. Can Thomas trust Teresa after this though? I would certainly not.
Overall a great book to read if action is your thing. Definitely leaves you with questions about what is happening. The suspense that this book portrays is something fun for the reader. You can tell how much Thomas cares for the well being of his friends. I recommend to anyone looking for a suspenseful book. ...more "

" There will always be a Tully and Kate.”This book brings many emotions to the reader. It is sad, happy, and could make you even angry at times. Two girls learning and growing up together. It is sad, happy, and could make you even angry at times. Two girls learning and growing up together. From the beginning to the end of the book it left me shocked and amazed at how beautiful a story could be.
The reader can tell how much thought and effort is put into the story. To me it seems like this writing tells a story that people could relate to. It reminds me of how nothing in life is forever and that you should enjoy everything you have now and that will come to you later in the future.
This book kept me wondering and wanting to know more as I read it. I was not expecting it to end that way I will say. The ending made me a little sad. I will not lie. But the way they made it so wonderful to read because of the connection they had was what made it so great. Firefly Lane made me realize how everyone needs someone in their life who inspires them to be their best. Someone who will always be there for you and will come running back to you no matter the difficulties.
Kate and Tully are both very strong women. Kate had to see the love of her life battle for his life. Not only that she had to deal with the struggles of being a mom to 3 children. Once her daughter grew and turned into a mini her with those arguments, it took a toll on her. Not to mention she unfortunately fell ill and had to stay strong for her family and Tuly.
Tully has huge dreams. She worked hard to fill the whole her mother left in her life. Like many other children she never felt loved by her own mother. She chased her dreams even though her past haunted her. She makes many mistakes like many people do but she grows and learns from them which is a good lesson for many people. Younger readers can learn from her as she inspires people to never give up on their goals.
“Firefly Lane.” The name comes from the street from where it all began. Making memories in the place they met. They were young and had no clue of the life ahead of them. Kate and Tully went from being complete strangers to best friends in a sad manner. Complete opposites they were yet they shared the things they had to offer to each other.
I do not read that many books. This is for sure on my top 3 now. It is inspiring me to go for what I truly desire no matter what might get in my way. I would recommend it to any person and hope it reaches as many people as possible. Firefly Lane was worth every minute of reading and is the type of book I would read again. ...more "
