"I look forward to seeing the romance develop between Charlie and Nora. Libby is so funny for leaving Nora at the bar with Charlie — goated wingwoman behaviour, though the execution was maybe not the most discreet lol.
I'm a fan of the vulnerability that Nora is showing. The cracks are finally showing in the armour she's so carefully built, showing that anyone, no matter how tough, is bound to break at some point." — Dec 17, 2025 08:20AM

"Read Deuteronomy 22-27.
I think it's very interesting to think about how strict God is with His people in terms of following his statutes and ordinances, especially when one considers how difficult it can be to uphold some or all of these laws. There are little to no exceptions to the expectations the Lord has set out for His people to follow, either. I could make a list of contradictory passages." — Dec 18, 2025 04:28AM

“Without shedding of blood there is no anything… Everything, it seems to me, has to be purchased by self-sacrifice. Our race has marked every step of its painful ascent with blood. And now torrents of it must flow again… I don’t think the war has been sent as a punishment for sin. I think it is the price humanity must pay for some blessing - some advance great enough to be worth the price which we may not live to see but which our children’s children will inherit.”

“After all," Anne had said to Marilla once, "I believe the nicest and sweetest days are not those on which anything very splendid or wonderful or exciting happens but just those that bring simple little pleasures, following one another softly, like pearls slipping off a string.”

“I'd like to add some beauty to life," said Anne dreamily. "I don't exactly want to make people KNOW more... though I know that IS the noblest ambition... but I'd love to make them have a pleasanter time because of me... to have some little joy or happy thought that would never have existed if I hadn't been born.”

“Peter did not feel very brave; indeed, he felt he was going to be sick. But that made no difference to what he had to do.”
