"Been struggling to finish this book because I've got some other books read altogether, but anyway, until this 148th page I find this novel quite interesting, especially because Sagan doesn't only tell us how it would scientifically change if extraterrestrial life existed, but he also gives us a picture of how it politically affects countries, that they had to work together in order to decipher the Vegan's message." “I love three things, I then say. I love a dream of love I once had, I love you, and I love this patch of earth.

And which do you love best?

Gilles Deleuze
“The fundamental problem of political philosophy is still precisely the one that Spinoza saw so clearly (and that Wilhelm Reich rediscovered): Why do men fight for their servitude as stubbornly as though it were their salvation?”
Gilles Deleuze, Anti-Oedipus: Capitalism and Schizophrenia

Natsuo Kirino
“For a girl, appearance can be a powerful form of oppression. No matter how intelligent a girl may be, no matter her many talents, these attributes are not easily discerned. Brains and talent will never stand up against a girl who is clearly physically attractive.”
Natsuo Kirino, Grotesque

Richard Brautigan
“I drank coffee and read old books and waited for the year to end.”
Richard Brautigan, Trout Fishing in America
