I've spent all my free time in the past week curled up in my bed pouring over the fourth installment of the Harry Potter series. Of course I had been putting it off seeing as every Harry Potter book ends up being impossible to put down and therefore is a life-ruiner- but in a good way.

Starting with the characters, I mean COME ON! As always, the characters were amazeballs, not unlike everything else JK Rowling creates. I especially liked Mad Eye Moody, even though...well...(don't want to spoil it for the whole 2 people that haven't already read this book.) Of course I loved Sirius, Dumbledore, and Harry as always. Winkey just annoyed me for the most part, but I'm in love with the house elves now(S.P.E.W. for life man.) Just in general there were killer characters as always.

As far as plot goes, I think it's hard to say the plot wasn't anything less than unbelievably creative and extraordinarily well thought out. There is the probability that I'm blinded by my complete and total love for JK Rowling's work and my potterheadness(it's a word now), but coming from a completely unbiased reader's standpoint the plot is truly marvelous, as is every aspect of this book.

If you couldn't tell my now I was absolutely enraptured by this story, and for the first time I cried while reading. And I read The Fault in Our Stars, so that's saying something. I can't explain what moves me so much about these books, because it's not that I haven't read about sadder events happening in other stories, because I have. I believe what makes the loss of life so profound in this series in particular is the deep emotional attachment you have with each and every character. The characters in these stories fill holes in my heart that no one else has been able to. Sirius Black and Remus Lupin seemed to have filled the fatherly void in my heart, and so many other characters have touched me in ways I never thought possible. I fell in love once again, while reading this book. This series will transcend generations. ...more "
